Ducks on Horsehay Pool, Telford

A walk from The Stanage to Horsehay Pool will take about twenty minutes and you can extend that by visiting Horsehay Village Golf Club and Driving Range or Meadowdale Garden Centre, passing both places on your way. Once at the pool you can feed the ducks and geese or treat yourself to fish and chips at The Cod Father and share your chips with the wild fowl. We can always find you some stale bread if you wish to keep your chips to yourself.

The Wrekin, one of the highest points in Shropshire

There is plenty of parking available and the views from the top of Shropshire and beyond are worth the walk. There is a good path to the top and some days you can stop for a drink at the Halfway House.

Turn left out of The Stanage onto the Dawley Road and immediately right into Church Hill Lane and you are in the countryside. Go on through Little Wenlock and you will find The Wrekin.
