]]> Visitors to the Ironbridge Gorge will have to use alternative routes in to the Gorge until June following heavy rockfalls in November. Work to stabilise the area will be undertaken by Telford and Wrekin Council.

If you are planning to stay at The Stanage Bed and Breakfast in Telford, we are a  short drive to the Ironbridge Park and Ride where you can leave your car and let the bus take the strain. Alternatively catch the 77 from Lawley Village.

]]> Within walking distance of The Stanage B & B there is soon to be a Marstons pub called The Grazing Cow, due to open 11th February 2013. That will be a 15/20 minute walk and is in the newly built Lawley Square. A new Morrisons has opened there and a Greggs bakers, other shops etc will be opening very soon.

A little further afield (2 miles) is The Huntsman in Little Wenlock and all guests who have gone there to eat have enjoyed the food and surroundings.

Ironbridge has many pubs and restaurants and is a 10 minute drive from The Stanage B & B.

]]> We spent a fun morning exploring caves, follies and walkways despite the constant rain. Well worth a visit to this park and if you like a good walk it should take about 3 hours of fairly strenuous walking to see the what is on offer. Take a torch and wear good boots.

Hawkstone Park and Follies is off the A49 above Shrewsbury and below Whitchurch, about a 30 minute drive from The Stanage Bed and Breakfast in Telford.
