Ironbridge is the birthplace of Industry and is set in the wonderful Ironbridge Gorge on the banks of The River Severn in Shropshire. There are 10 interesting and fun museums suitable for all the family.

Telford and Ironbridge have plenty of restaurants and Telford has a great variety of shops both large and small, all under cover so you can avoid the wet weather. Indoor bowling and a multiplex cinema.

A recent visit to Tong Church with a friend found us hunting for the grave of Little Nell and we managed to find it with help from another visitor.

This is as it says on the grave stone the ‘reputed grave’ of the character from Charles Dickens story The Old Curiosity Shop. Dickens is also believed to have visited nearby Shifnal.

The church was open to the public and extremely beautiful, well worth a visit.

Tong Church, Shropshire

We stopped on our way home from visiting the newly opened Granary at Weston Park.

The Granary sells a good range of local produce and is also home to exhibitions in the rooms above.

The carrot cake in the coffee shop was the real reason for the visit.

To get to Weston Park and Tong Church from The Stanage you exit at junction 3 on the M54.
