Why not stay at The Stanage Bed & Breakfast in Telford, Shropshire and visit The World Heritage Site of The Ironbridge Gorge.

Telford is just off the M54 and ideally placed to break a long journey to North Wales or Ireland. We are 120 miles from Holyhead (A5), 93 miles from Llandudno,76 miles from Betws-y-Coed (A5)  91 miles from Aberystwyth (A44) and 45 miles from Llangollen (A5). Ironbridge is the birthplace of Industry and is set in the wonderful Ironbridge Gorge on the banks of The River Severn in Shropshire. There are 10 interesting and fun museums suitable for all the family.

Leave The Stanage and drive north/west  along the A5 and visit first Oswestry and then go to Whittington( A495) where you will find a truly beautiful little castle set with moat and lawns. Lots of history to discover and well worth a visit.

Leave and head for Ellsmere where not only will you find lovely lakes you can also walk along the canal path of the Llongollen Canal.
